Water Balancers

Water balance chemicals are the chemicals used to maintain the proper chemical balance in pool or spa water, ensuring it is safe, comfortable, and non-damaging to equipment and surfaces. Properly balanced water prevents corrosion, scaling, and skin or eye irritation.

Key types of water balance chemicals include:

PH Adjusters

Purpose: Keep water pH in the ideal range (7.2–7.8)

Examples: Muriatic acid (to lower pH), Soda ash (to raise pH)

Total Alkalinity (TA) Adjusters

Purpose: Stabilize pH and prevent rapid swings

Examples: Sodium bicarbonate (to raise TA), Acid (to lower TA)

Calcium Hardness Increasers

Purpose: Prevent corrosion (low calcium) or scaling (high calcium) on pool surfaces and equipment

Examples: Calcium chloride

Cyanuric Acid (Stabilizer)

Purpose: Protect chlorine from sunlight degradation in outdoor pools
